Welcome to the brand new updated Akers Quarter Horses website. If you have viewed our website in the past, you are in for a treat. It's quite a change from our previous site.
Akers Quarter Horses is owned & operated by Sherry & Steve Akers. We are located in southwest Iowa. We've been raising and showing AQHA Halter horses since the early 1990's.
We believe QUALITY is more important than QUANTITY and raise only a foal or two each year, but as you view the pages on our site, you can see we raise very high quality foals that we are very proud of.
On our site, you will see many pictures showing the quality of the mares we have and have owned, the foals we raise, and the stallions we breed to. Our mares are either Superior Halter horses, by or out of Superior Halter Horses, or by or out of World Champions & World Champion Sires.

We've bred to the top halter stallions in the nation such as MR YELLA FELLA, Multiple AQHA & PHBA World Champion Halter Stallion & AQHA World Champion Sire (JMK MAXIMUS, 2002 AQHA Open & Amateur World Champion Weanling Stallion), 3 of the top 5 AQHA World Champion Weanling Fillies were his get just a few years ago; IMAGE OF KID, World Champion Halter Stallion & World Champion sire (ROCKSTER, 2002 AQHA Open World Champion 2 Year Old Stallion), sire of multiple futurity winners out of his first 2 foal crops); PLAYGIRLS CONCLUSION, Reserve World Champion Halter Stallion and multiple World & Reserve World Champion sire; RIVER CITY RENEGADE, World Champion Halter Stallion & World Champion Halter Sire, sire of multiple futurity winners & Halter ROM; and TOO YELLA TO STREAK, an outstanding son of Mr Yella Fella owned by Barbara Hoffer of Hofferosa Ranch.
